1.add up 合计
•add vt. 增加；加；补充说
add sth to sth把……加到/进……里
add up to加起来共计达(不用于被动语态)
add to增加；增添(多用于抽象意义)
add that...又说……；补充说……
•addition n.加；(数)加法；增加
in addition另外；此外(还有)
in addition to除……之外
eg. The Spring Festival plays a major role in the lives of Chinese people，so various activities are necessary for adding a flavour to the festival.(节日介绍)
春节在中国人的生活中起着重要的作用，因此为增添节日气氛而进行的各种活动也必不可少。
2.upset adj.难过的，不高兴的(unhappy)，失望的(disappointed)；心烦意乱的；不安的(annoyed)；不适的vt.使不安；使心烦，打扰；打翻；打乱
be upset to do/about sth对(做)某事感到不安/心烦
It upsets sb that...让人不高兴的是……
eg. (2022·泉州模拟)I guess you may be puzzled，surprised，upset，even frustrated at such words.　我想你可能会对这些话感到困惑、惊讶、不安，甚至沮丧。
【点拨】　(1)upset充当形容词时常用作表语，不能作定语。
(2)upset的过去式和过去分词形式为upset；其现在分词形式为upsetting。
3.calm vt. & vi.(使)平静；(使)镇定
adj.平静的；镇静的；沉着的
calm (...) down(使)平静下来；(使)镇定下来
keep/stay calm 保持冷静
4.concern vt.(使)担忧(worry)；涉及；关系到(involve) n.担心；忧虑；关注；(利害)关系
•show concern for对……关注
•concerned adj.担心的(worried)；关注的(interested in)；相关的(relevant)
be concerned with与……有关
be concerned about/for 关心；挂念
as/so far as...be concerned 就……而言；依……之见
•concerning prep.有关；关于(about)
eg. Just imagine how great the world would be if we only showed greater concern for our fellowman.　想象一下如果我们稍微多关心一下我们的同胞，世界将变得多美好。
【联想】　“就某人而言，依……之见”的常用表达还有：
in one’s opinion/view，from one’s point of view
5.go through经历；经受； 通过(考试、法案等)；经过(某场所)；仔细检查，查看；完成；用完，耗尽
eg. We went through all our money last month，because we went through many difficulties.Therefore，this month we’ll go through the cost plan.
因为经历了诸多困难，上个月我们用完了所有的钱。因此，这个月我们要详细检查一下花费计划。
