Larry Page and Sergey Brin, the creators of Google, want to change your world. Their goal is to make a search engine that always gives you the right information. "It's a huge goal, Page says, and it's a long way off. "But Page and Brin are ready for it.
"Imagine if you had a librarian who had the knowledge of Google but could also answer immediately with that knowledge," says Page. "That would really change the world."
Both Page and Brin come from math and computer science backgrounds. Page's father and mother were both computer scientists. So Page's love for computers started early. He remembers surprising his teachers when he turned in a typed homework paper in primary school.
Brin's father was a math teacher and Brin's parents moved to the U.S. from Russia in 1979. Brin says they moved to the U.S. to have more chances. Judging from their son's success, their move certainly was a great decision!
Page and Brin were students at Stanford University when they first had the idea of creating their now-famous Google search engine. They began the project in Page's dorm room（宿舍）. Brin says he knew Google would be great when he found that he used it all the time.
