Metaphor也是也叫隐喻，是简缩了的明喻，但不用比喻词like或as作对比，是将某一事物的名称用于另一事物，通过比较形成，从而更生动，更深刻地说明事理，增强语言的表现力。例如：她是个天使。(She is an angel.)是暗喻；而她像天使般天真无邪。。(She is as innocent as an angel.)是明喻。
